Yesterday, the National Development and Reform Commission (Office of the Central Leading Group for Coordinated Regional Development) held a symposium on central enterprises supporting the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port in Haikou. At the symposium, representatives of 15 state-owned enterprises including China National Offshore Oil Corporation, China Ocean Shipping Group, and Sinopec Holdings Corporation spoke on how to combine Hainan’s advantages to expand foreign business and enhance the export-oriented economic development level of the Hainan Free Trade Port. The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, the People's Bank of China and other central departments and the Hainan Provincial Government responded to how to support central enterprises to invest and establish businesses in Hainan and resolve relevant opinions and demands. Relevant parties in Hainan Province expressed the hope that major central enterprises will combine their corporate development strategic advantages and free trade port policy advantages to deepen cooperation with Hainan in areas such as trade investment, industrial development, and infrastructure construction, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results through joint development. Hainan will deepen the implementation of the relevant work arrangements of the central government, be guided by the demands of enterprises, and start from serving enterprises, so as to provide good environmental conditions for central enterprises to invest and operate in Hainan.
